The songs in this Everyday Favourites Bundle were created at different times over many years, and have become some of the children’s favourites as they move through the ordinary transitions of their day. I hope they become favourites for your children too.
Getting Dressed- this is the first song I created, for my daughter as a toddler, to encourage her to put her arm into the sleeve I held open for her, or her foot into a sock. It’s still the song that amazes me the most, as it transforms getting children dressed into a beautiful, calm moment of connection.
Toilet Time- this song inspires a proud sense of accomplishment in children as they cross the threshold between nappies and toileting.
Tidy Up Crane- I created this song to offer my son a playful way to tidy his room through imaginative play. With this song, children pretend to be cranes carrying a load from one place to another, into a box or basket. It’s a favorite for many children.
Bath Time- at a time when children are often becoming tired, this song signals that it’s time for some fun in the bath, bringing a little playfulness to getting washed.
Bedtime- a soft lullaby to help children slow down and settle, creating a peaceful transition into bedtime or daytime rest.
Marla’s Tip - I sing these songs whenever they feel appropriate throughout the day- when a child might be settling for a nap, using the toilet or tidying up. Once a song becomes familiar, children will often begin to request it themselves when that particular moment comes around. Children seem to love the bond between a familiar song and its accompanying action.
