I created the two songs in this Tidy Up Time Bundle at different times and for different reasons. Used together, these songs transform tidying into a fun, shared experience that children look forward to.
Tidy Up Crane- to offer a playful way to encourage my son to tidy up his room using imaginative play. Through this song, children pretend to be cranes carting a load from one place to another, into a box or basket. It’s a favorite for many children.
Tidy Up Teamwork- to support a group of children to work together as a team and pack up after their play time. At the end, the children are often surprised at how quickly we’re finished, declaring, “Wow! It’s done!”
Marla’s Tip - While I work with young children, we sing these songs together each morning as we prepare the room for Circle Time. I always begin with Tidy Up Teamwork because we call the pack-away process ‘Teamwork Time’, and then I alternate with Tidy Up Crane, keeping the mood fresh and the children’s enthusiasm high until everything is packed away.
