I created this song one day for two children who needed some support and guidance with sharing. The melody has a gentle to-and-fro rhythm that mirrors the natural flow of taking turns from one person to another. It also helps comfort children who are wondering when it will be their turn again.

Marla’s Tip - I sing this song for the children alongside my verbal acknowledgment of who’s turn it is now and that the next child will get a turn when the other has finished. Together, the words and melody help both children feel heard and reassured. Sometimes the children reinterpret the last few words of the song once I’m finished singing, announcing the familiar cliche to us all, “because sharing IS caring!”
